Personal

Sims is a Massachusetts native, having grown up in Topsfield. He and his wife Heather, (who grew up in Chatham) moved to Orleans in 1984 when they started Simpler Pleasures, a successful decorating and home furnishings business on Main Street in Chatham. From 1987 to 1991 he was a Realtor in Chatham, gaining his Real ÐÇ¿ÕÌåÓý¹Ù·½ÍøÖ· Broker's License (#9028550) in 1988. Sims has owned and run a real estate management and maintenance business since 1987 and, since 2003, has been a partner in HMD Architects, LLC, a residential design and construction business where he has worked as Project Manager and in new business development. Sims has been in the "home" business for 42 years. His wealth of experience, combined with his extensive local knowledge gained as a municipal volunteer and elected official, makes Sims a remarkable resource for both buyers and sellers. Sims has been a competitive amateur sailor for over 30 years, campaigning on a j/105 on a national basis for 10 of those years. He is also an avid skier that loves the steeps and the woods. Sims and Heather have 2 grown children, Sims III and Meaghan, two grandchildren, and, after 25 years of Bernese Mountain Dogs, have recently adopted an Australian Shepherd, Izzy.
